Sorry. I'm not familiar with that functionality in questionnaire at all. But, if you want an improvement in the module, the best way to achieve it is to enter an issue in the Moodle Tracker for the questionnaire component, describing what you want and what its for. If you have the solution in code, that will definitely speed it up.
