Using Moodle for activities other then school related or pay for on-line courses

I am curious is anyone out there is using Moodle for things other then on-line courses?

I work for a company that builds software to manage timeshare resorts.  They have been looking for a solution to create a comprehensive customer service / technical support / training website.  I demoed Moodle for the executives earlier this week as a possible direction to go, and they were ecstatic that one piece of software would do 90% of what they wanted to do.

Is there anyone out there doing anything like this with Moodle?

Hi

I use it as a database for support materials for my learners - we train face to face and give them a password so that they can download extras, course notes, share best practice etc

Does this help?

Hi Scott,

We have been using Moodle to write online courses, its related to teaching but we have treating moodle as a community discussion space and a repository for files.  We are planning to use it to support customers in the future.  It sounds spot on for what you want it to do.

We use Moodle to help the members of our software users group mutually support each other through forums and glossaries.  Procedures and software download areas are also provided www.vasasi.org/moodle/
