Hi I am an MA student in applied linguistic.  I want to do my thesis in moodle.

I have read some papers about it but still I did not get much.

Please tell me is it possible to install moodle in tablet. I found that there is a necessary to install cookies.  Can you send me a link for that.

Would you please introduce me some good articles about moodle and some free moodle for teaching and learning english?

Thanks for time

Hello. I am not very  clear what you want to use Moodle for. You are a student of Applied Linguistics and Moodle is software - are you saying you want to write a thesis about using Moodle? Or do you mean you want to use Moodle to write your LInguistics thesis? If it is the second case then I don't think Moodle is right for you 眨眼 If it is the first case and you want to learn how to use Moodle , then start with About Moodle FAQ  I don't think you can install Moodle on a tablet but you can use Moodle sites on a tablet. As Mary says, I wouldn't recommend to install Moodle in a tablet. I'd use a Linux Server or an on-line hosting. After that, you can use your Moodle in a tablet. It's a matter of browsers, not O.S.

Depends on the age of the "tablet" we still have some older "Tablets" that shipped with Windows XP Tablet Edition.  A tablet like that should support a basic Moodle Installation.  I would not expect the touch screen to work though, you would have to use the keyboard.

As for the current generation of tablets, there is a Moodle download on the Windows Web App Gallery (there is a link on the bottom of the Moodle for Windows download page).  It does appear that you could run it on a Surface or other Windows based tablet.   Could be a fun way to play with it.

I recently installed Moodle 2.7 on a Raspberry Pi.

After a day playing around optimising the webserver, PHP, MySQL, and various hardware and OS tweaks I've got a reasonable performance (takes a couple of second to load a page).  Not good enough for a class of students, but certainly good enough for use as a private Moodle testing site, a small development site, or even a basic pubic Moodle text with minimal graphics site 微笑

Hi Stuart,

Moodle on a Raspberry Pi, I like the way you think. Brings up endless possibilities 微笑

Yeah, I was wondering if it would be fast enough to make available for schools as their own little Moodle site.
But I really don't think it's fast enough.
I think a slightly more powerful future RPi model, and someone who is more skilled in optimising the environment than I am could make it a reasonable option though.
However, as I said, $100 for a dedicated Moodle test environment is good value for an Admin to play around with Moodle and learn a lot without damaging a live site!

It would have to be a very small school. With Moodle 2.6's overhead, I doubt a Raspberry Pi CPU could handle many concurrent HTTP requests.

How about personal, offline Moodles? Moodle in your pocket, wherever you go, no WiFi necessary. Learners can do all their non-collaborative assignments, activities, reading, watching, etc. offline and then sync with the school's master Moodle. Could it reduce server loads at peak usage times? Maybe under some circumstances... learners would still tend to submit assignments, projects, etc. just before deadlines. Mmm...

I think it's already been done with bootable USB drives, i.e. a LAMP stack + GUI + slightly modified version of Moodle.
