Looking forward to using the annotation feature in 2.6, but I'm missing something.
I'm running Moodle on my own small server; it's a clean install of 2.6. The ghostscript test link says it is installed and working properly.
When I go to grade an assignment with an attached PDF, I have a "Launch PDF Editor" button. Clicking it opens the annotation window, and I see a "Generating PDF" message, but the window remains blank. If it's a multi-page PDF, it seems to know how many pages it contains (I can flip through "Page 1" "Page 2" etc. at the top) but they are all blank.
I'm not sure how to troubleshoot from here, or what else to try. My PHP error log remains distressingly empty, as well.
Also, I noticed in the View/Grade Submissions list, there's a column for "Annotate PDF" which is empty—should something show up there, if a student has submitted a PDF? Or is that column filled in when the annotated PDF is saved?
My Moodle install isn't as clean as I would like it to be—before I realized that PDF annotation support was baked in to 2.6, I installed the Assignment PDF plugins (https://moodle.org/plugins/browse.php?list=set&id=29), and couldn't figure out why there seemed to be two buttons for annotating PDFs with two slightly different interfaces on the grading screen.
As I monkeyed around with that, I did something that seemed to make uninstalling the Assignment PDF plugins impossible (errors, weird loops, update notices, etc.), and so I ended up manually removing their entries from the mdl_config_plugins table in the database.
Could I have ruined something by doing that?
Any suggestions about where to go from here are greatly appreciated!
