Hi all,
I have a great opportunity to use a wiki on a project I'm working on here at Southampton Uni. Groups of students (100+ in total) need to post their individually collected data and collate it together.
What would be the loading issues with such a large group of students? They wouldn't be all using it at the same time but it would be useful if up to a third of them could use it all at one time. Is anyone else using the wiki with such a large group?
BTW
I heard a radio 4 program here in the UK the other day, a founding member of the excite search engine (remember that?) was waxing lyrical about his new venture: selling wikis to corporations as collaborative tools. He put forward a good argument as to why they are going to be important in the future so I think its really important to introduce students to the concept in their education.
TIA
Richard
