Hi Moodlers,

It's going to start on 1st September so now's a good time to discuss what we think is going to happen. What do you make of Moodle.org's new MOOC? What do you think will happen? Why do you think MoodleHQ are doing this?

On the MCCC course in particular, what do you think are the main positives and negatives?

Teaching with Moodle: An introduction

Registrations open 19th August 2013

This free course is designed for anybody who wants to use the Moodle learning platform for teaching, whether it be in a school, a university, a company or just personal interest!

The four-week course is also a great opportunity to connect with the vibrant Moodle community dedicated to sharing resources, ideas and anything that could help inspire better teaching practices everywhere.

I'll leave the discussions to others (since I'm involvedподмигиваю) but I did want to clarify something: the MCCC (Moodle Course creator Certificate) is  Moodle certification run by Moodle partners (course here https://moodle.org/course/view.php?id=48 )  and requires you to have a significant amount of experience with Moodle - whereas the course on Learn Moodle is a basic, beginners' course  not connected to the MCCC.  Hopefully  of course, if it encourages people to want to study Moodle more then at some point they might want to go for the MCCC.

What I know is, there will be a big rush at the registrations. BTW, on the other side of the world it is already tomorrow.
