2nd Moodle Research Conference (MRC2013)

The Moodle Research Conference (MRC) is a unique annual event dedicated to research and development (R&D) in learning and teaching carried out with Moodle. The MRC is an opportunity for academics, researchers, experts and practitioners who use Moodle and perform research and development to share experiences and exchange research achievements and innovative developments.

We invite scientists and practitioners to submit full papers or posters that critically report on quantitative and qualitative research concerning learning and teaching with Moodle.

After a systematic double-blind review process, papers and posters will be presented covering:

  • experimental research,
  • case studies,
  • surveys and analyses,
  • reports and
  • position papers.

Topics

Prospective authors are invited to submit manuscripts reporting original unpublished research and recent developments. The following are possible topics involving Moodle.

  • Experimental research involving methods and tools
  • Case studies on the effectiveness of teaching methods
  • Innovative plugins
  • Mobile learning
  • Learning analytics
  • Collaborative learning
  • Communities of practice
  • Interoperability with Moodle
  • Accessibility
  • Personalisation and adaptivity
  • Massive Open Online Courses

Paper submission guidelines

Prospective authors are invited to submit:

  • research papers up to 8 pages (including figures and references) or
  • posters up to 1000 words in length.

Submissions will be made using the EasyChair conference management system. All submissions will undergo double-blind peer review involving at least two program committee members.

Accepted papers will be published as conference proceedings with an ISBN in an open access, online-only version.

Organisers

The MRC2013 will be organised by Moodle Partner MediaTouch 2000 srl with the support of Moodle HQ and the CoSyLlab research group from the University of Piraeus. Local support will also be supplied by European Learning Centre, a consortium composed by ATI Egineering, MediaTouch 2000 srl and Star-t srl

Venue

The conference will take place in Sousse, Tunisia, a very interesting tourist city that is visited by more than 1 200 000 people annually. Sousse is one of the oldest cities in Tunisia with an authentic Medina, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Sousse is very close to Monastir, one of the most famous tourist destinations in Northern Africa.

The MRC will be held at the Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa, located in downtown Sousse, by the sea.
