Simplified the test above: only YUI and jQuery, no more Dojo and such. I also updated the frameworks. The JS code is unchanged.

It seems that YUI is faster than jQuery with Mozilla, up to 51% faster with FF21.
With the latest Chrome, jQuery is 13% faster. With IE8 (through Virtualbox) and the latest Opera, jQuery largely outperforms YUI, respectively by 70% and 337% (jQuery+Opera seems extremely fast).
