Please vote the tracker-issue "Alternate name fields" that makes Moodle more useful for East-Asian Moodle users.

Moodle has only two namefields (firstname, lastname). English teachers who can't read East-Asian characters aren't able to find students when these namefields are filled with East-Asian characters. In addition, the order of Chinese characters is not alphabetical.
