Update: I think I have found out why nanogong will fail to playback a recording in some courses. If the filters for the course has been set with HTML tidy turned 'on' then nanogong won't playback a recording. So if you also encounter this problem, try this troubleshooting idea: go to Course Administration --> settings --> Filters & make sure your html tidy is set to off.
