If a course is backed up that is a metacourse, and then restored again, maybe to a different server, if the restore process sees that it's a metacourse (and the user has elected to backup/restore the metacourse information), then it will try and create links with the child courses. In the case of it being on a different server, it's possible that a child course may not be found.
