I just uploaded one of the plugins I developed during my Christmas vacation

It's a local plugin for allowing anonymous postings in Moodle 2 forums

Please note that this plugin:

  • Is a standar plugin (do not change core code)
  • It's not a replacement or fork of the current forum
  • It works over the current forum
  • It is a "little bit hacky". Uses some DOM manipulation and some Moodle code tricks for not changing core code
  • A new user Anonymous user is created in your Moodle installation, uses are "logged" with this user when posting
  • Supports backup and restore

This plugin have been tested only by me so far, I'll really appreciate your feedback before adding it in the contrib database

Hi Juan,

I have just downloaded your plugin and installed it into moodle 2.  i have followed your instructions but there are no new settings, etc appearing in the moodle forum settings.

can you please advise what i am doing wrong.

Hi Sharon

What should be in Bold is once you've created the Custom Role, and then gone into the Plugins and enabled Anonymous posting for the new role.  When you create a New Forum In the Settings Block NOT the Forum Form settings there is a new link called Anonymous Posting.

Once you click on this and enable it for that particular discussion forum, and then go into a discussion as a student you'll see.. the options described e.g. Reply Anonymous

Once the user has finished reply anonymously they can then click Within the Settings block 'Log in with my actual user' which logs them back in

I was a bit stuck for a while too

Hi!

Does this plugin work as it it is on MOODLE 1.9?

Does anyone know of an alternative solution that would alow parents to engage in  a forum without being registered users?

Will this serve a similar need I'll call "cloaked identity"? We need for students to be able to hide their identity, but facilitators can see the username.

Hi,

I'm trying to test your plugin, but I'm apparently missing something...

Plugin was downloaded and installed. A custom role was defined with only startdiscussion, replypos, viewpost and viewblock capabilities for course and activities contexts.

The plugin was enabled with the new role as default role for course and activity contexts.

I created a new forum in a random course, but the link for anonymous posting do not appear in the course/forum administration block.

I tried on both moodle 2.9 and 3.0

Could you help me?

I am having the same problem.  I believe I've configured the plugin correctly to use the new Anonymous student role, but there is no link in the Forum block to do anonymous posting.

Moodle 2.9.3.

The secound problem, If I would like to edit the user:

You've been working the plugin is your system?

Have you any ideas on how to operate the plugin?
