As I read the thread here. I was motivated to beg for the following:

Please, please to the powers that be. See the attached image.

Rubrics, I think would help many in the grading process for Activities.

A bug was placed previously about this, Bug # 2255 and discussed a bit here.

Yes, I couldn't agree more. This tool is essential for more qualitative grading options - giving information rich feedback instead of simple numbers.

I understand this may not be possible for 1.5, but if someone can look at it for a future version it would be invaluable. I think grading is one of the most crucial issues in education - especially Social constructivist approaches. wink

What do other people think about this?

Great pic WP!  cool

Moodle and other "constructivism" products ask more and more that students will deliver eassys and other "open-ended" products, stored in their personal portfolio.

Poor teacher who has to look at these products and grade them..

That's why I consider to give every open task in a learning envoronment his own Rubrics-sheet, and yes in the way you choose: I give you five examples for the type of assignment you are talking about, then you pick one and improve it, ending with your  own preferred one..

...and give that back to the community...

Put the word Rubics in your search engine and be astonished how the Rubrics-virus is spread in the USA..

(Look in Alaska and Kansas and..)

(My favorite Rubricstore is http://rubistar.4teachers.org/ take one, give one back.. The only drawback is that people cheat with less and more in the scales when they have to describe the operationalisation on that scale on several operational levels..)

Lets also start to talk about IMS/LD again?
