Git docs on the wiki - still empty?

It is about a year since Moodle development changed fom CVS to Git. There is a link for git wiki page on the downloads, but http://docs.moodle.org/dev/Git_for_Administrators where it points still empty. There is no info even on official git servers, from which people could clone various branches of Moodle. It seems that development sprints go too fast to be able to write even bare minimum of information, necessary for the community...

Where on the Earth I should seek Moodle 2.1+ and  Moodle dev. (2.2) repository to clone?!

Dear Oleg,

You can get the .git file from http://git.moodle.org which is mirrored on https://github.com/moodle/moodle.

When you clone from them you will have access to the release tags.  For which you will need 'MOODLE_21' for Moodle 2.1+ and 'master' for dev (2.2).

Cheers,

Gareth

Hi Oleg,

there is http://docs.moodle.org/en/Git_for_Administrators with all the relevant details Sonrisa

It looks like the link from the download page is simply wrong (it's pointing to http://docs.moodle.org/dev/Git_for_Administrators instead of http://docs.moodle.org/en/Git_for_Administrators)

Saludos.
Iñaki.

I should really find the time to add to that documentation page some specific documentation for those "command-line" haters who, like myself, prefer to use a user-friendly GUI such as e.g. TortoiseGit.Guiño

Many thanks to both Gareth and Inaki Sonrisa

It seems that massive wiki pages reorganising have done quite a harm for the moodle.org links integrity, something must be done about it...

The page has been renamed lately ("moved" in MediaWiki parlance) to http://docs.moodle.org/20/en/Installing_Moodle_from_Git_repository

The See also: section there points to some more Git docs already available.

PS
I added a link to the DEV wiki which points to the Moodle 2.0 wiki. Unfortunately the usual #REDIRECT doesn't work across wikis, which IMHO is further proof of the disadvantage of splitting Moodle Docs into three separate wikis.
