Drop down grade order

Drop down grade order

I have a user that is at least some of his assignments show the grade dropdown starting from the bottom of the scale.  This means that for 100 point ideas he has to scroll nearly to the top to assign the grade.  These assignments were created in 1.9.X before our 2.1 upgrade.  I have not seen any of my own old assignments do this, nor can I find a way to create an assignment to replicate it.  Any thoughts.  It doesn't appear critical but is surely bedeviling.

if your user is seeing something like this

then all the user need do is hit 1 in the keyboard and the selected will jump to 100. This works such that pressing a number key will move the selected to the first item (from the top) which starts with the pressed number. So hitting 9 will move the selected to 99, 8 to 89, 7 to 79 and so on. Hitting the same number key again will move the selected to the next item which starts with that number (e.g. hitting 1 with go first to 100 then to 19, then to 18 and so on).

If your user uses a smaller range than 0-100 it would probably be better to use a custom scale with just a few items (no scroll) and adjust to 100 in the gradebook.

Hi Curtis

Itamar has provided an excellent solution - I always prefer the keyboard shortcuts!

Your issue sounds like it might be related to a custom created scale?  If so, it might be a scale that has been added the wrong way around.  I have seen this before where a user has added an A,B,C,D scale into their course with the best score first instead of the worst one (it should be entered as D,C,B,A).  This also means the gradebook aggregation calculations don't work correctly as the best score is a "D"!!

This might not be the issue you have but I've seen it before so might help 微笑

Cheers

Sorry for taking so long to return.  Thanks.  I'll pass the info along and see if that solves it for him.  Again, it's not something that happens in my class, but I did see the user have it in his.
