Navigation bar to move between topics and hiding "topic outline", "topic numbers" and "show only this topic"

This gives an example of some ways a teacher can tweak the course page by doing the following:

  • automatically showing only topic 1 the first time the course is entered to reduce the "Moodle scroll of death" problem. The topic that was displayed when you leave the course is automagically displayed the next time you enter the course.
  • hide the "Topic outline" that is shown at the top of the page
  • hide the topic numbers that are shown to the left of the topic heading
  • hide the little squares that are shown at the right of the topics to show all topics or just the current topic. This has to be one the least understood icons in Moodle.

You can see an example at http://www.emarkingassistant.com/community/course/view.php?id=5 (opens in new window). Feel free to make comments, highlight problems or suggest improvements by replying in this moodle.org forum.
