Hi everyone,

I noticed a very helpful pluging to be added to moodle blocks menu, namely lesson objectives. I have been trying to install it according to the installation instructions provided, but having an error after I click upgrade as shown in the screen shot herewith.

Plugin "mod_question" is defective or outdated, can not continue, sorry.

Hi Barrak,

You have downloaded the wrong version (for moodle 1.9). You need to download the version for Moodle 2.0, which installs OK.

Download for Moodle 2.0

Thanks Joseph for your reply. Please note that I did download the version for moodle 2.0 (davosmith-moodle-objectives-867f93e) but it seems that there is something wrong. I followed the installation instructions literally.

Another point to mention is: why do I get the mod/question affected when I install lesson obectives plugin? It seems to me that there is a conflict or something which I am not aware of.

Do you think that's happened because of the moodle version I am currently using (2.0.2+)?blush

Cheers

Hi Barrack,

I see no reason for the problems you are experiencing. I managed to install the Lesson Objectives block on my moodle 2.0 test site straight away.

I think you'll have to solve the mod/question problem first...

It is very strange that you should have a mod/question installed. What is it? When did you install it? Maybe you wrongly copied something into your mod/ folder? If that is the case, then remove mod/question from your server files.

Hi again,

Thanks a lot for all of your replies and support. I did fix the problem. It seems that mod/question has been installed with hotpot plugin which I installed earlier. Therefore, the lesson objectives plugin has been successfully installed after I removed hotpot plugin from my moodle. Hence mod/question has currently disappeared from my moodle files.

Anyway, thanks again for your help. cool

Hello,

> It seems that mod/question has been installed with hotpot plugin which I installed earlier

In that case the file is in the wrong place. It should be here:

  • move this: mod/question/format/hotpot
  • to here:question/format/hotpot

Once the folder has been moved you will be able to import from Hot Potatoes files into your Moodle 2.0 question bank cool

Gordon
