I've now posted all of the chapters for Understanding Moodle. Please feel free to download them, make comments or suggestions in the forums, or share stories or practices you'd like to see considered for inclusion.

Thanks a bunch.

Hi Jason,
I had a short look to some chapters and found some good ideas for my german trainer manual that will be published in three weeks.
Its a great book and i saw that it was much work. Thank you.

Sorry for the lack of feedback from me yet, Jason - just trying to find time to read it!  sorriso  What I've seen looks good, though!!

I've done some reorganisation and culling to bring the number of activities related to this book down to a more manageable size.   I've also subscribed everyone to the Understanding Moodle forum.

Jason,

I've not looked in on the Doc Project course for ages. The Understanding Moodle book looks very impressive! I'm in process of writing something similar myself at the moment as support material for Moodle training workshops I'm developing.

Anyone who has attempted this sort of thing will appreciate the amount of effort it takes - so hearty congratulations from me. (If mine takes 6 months I'm sunk!).

I've had a quick peek at a few chapters but I'm reluctant to actually read it as the output of my work in progress will be used in a commerial setting and the UM book licence specifically prohibits commercial use. Given that I might be influenced/inspired by my reading, this might lead to some legal (and ethical) confilcts (a friend was giving me words of caution on copyright / intellectual property rights issues only last night). Unless you can see a way around this I'm, reluctantly, going to have to pass on assisting on this.

Best wishes

Ray

A quick suggestion in the order of the documents for the WORD version.

Put the ZIP file first.

I am sleepy sonolento  and didn't notice it was available until I got to about, oh, 7.

But it looks very good!

The files are simply listed in alphabetical order - that's why the zip was somewhere near the end. I've changed the name of the file to 00_Complete_Book_zipped.zip - now it is displayed at the top.

about effective data display

por candy castanares -

i just want to ask if MOODLE supports anything about data display. i have only read about a module in this MLE that has a better uploading feature, and none about downloading. would you be kind enough to mention a site or VLE that has an advanced downloading feature? ^_^ thanks.
