A request from several of our professors is to be able to attach documents or files to assignment feedback. This is particularly useful when grading papers: instructors can use Microsoft Word's "track changes" feature to make edits and comments on the student's paper, then upload it as part of their moodle feedback.
Would this be difficult to implement?
Thank you.
and happy new year!
It is possible to attach 1 file using the new assignment mod which you can download from here:

If you wanted more than one feedback file attaching then you would have to zip it up before attaching.

It does seem to be a much demanded feature (at least in these forums - dunno about the bug tracker) which seems to be falling on deaf ears. (EDIT. This appears to be Bug #161 which only has 2 votes. 1 in 2002 and me just now!)
That said, apparently the assignment module is getting an overhaul so it is more modular. The way I understand it is it would allow such things to be developed as a plug-in.
I guess it would be more than a little wasteful developing this if it is going to become obsolete.
Does anyone have a timescale / more details on the next version of the assignment module?
TIA

Hi Martin, we have a request for some changes to assignment as well, including the sending of corrected doc to students. We've already implemented another change, the ability to have a typed in 'custom' score rather than the drop down.
Do you see the pluggable types making it into 1.5, or would it be worth roling some of the current mods together into a mod in contrib (assuming that the pluggable types won't be ready until a 1.6-1.7)?
