I'm Mike D'Monte and I manage the Education sector for Netspace (an Australian ISP).

I can't help you with the first question but as for the second I might be able to contirbute. We are in the process of trialling Moodle with the view of offering it for free to our education customers. Since we look after the needs of about 1000 schools, with in excess of 200,000 staff and students throughout Australia (but 90% in Victoria) I think that by the end of this year we would be one of the largest sites in terms of the numbers of students.

The majority of interest has come from Primary Schools, which surprised me as I had thought that Secondary Schools would have had a greater requirement.
