When we first rolled out Moodle 2, we found that our lecturers could control the enrolment methods for their course.
One of our lecturers managed to go in to Enrolment Methods and disable 'External Database' for their course. This resulted in them - and all their students - being instantly removed from the course.
The lecturers quickly lost that privilege.
