Thanks for the 'heads up' with respect to possible database corruption. That said, I have had no problem deleting 5.5 and restoring 4.5 on our Moodle 1.9.9 development server. I was using the recent 5.5 07232010 code, so perhaps the database issues are now fixed - or I was just lucky!

With either version, I am still seeing the 'zombie' behaviour of the Dimdim Web meeting activity link. If you delete a Dimdim activity from a course, it initially disappears, but reappears (but is inactive) on the next page refresh. The activity is removed from the mdl_dimdim table but the link remains in the mdl_course_modules
