We were using Moodle 1.95 and Nanogong v3.2 and everything was working fine. When we upgraded to 1.99+ and to Nanogong 4, we lost the Nanogong Assignment part (the Nanogong outside the Assignment area still works).

I have played with it in 1.9.9 the last hour or so...any recording made as the teacher or administrator with the small separate recording window fails to work.
When logged in as a student, any recording made on the web browser page works correctly.
Administration > Modules > Filters > Manage Filters
Make sure the "eye" is open for Nanogong.
I still can't figure out how to get the caption to work reliably. Sometimes it will let me make an entry but most of the time it will not.
I checked my filters. It's turned on.

I think you mean the NanoGong activity, rite? In what particular way it has a problem?

Yes, I mean the NanoGong activity. I thought there were two different places where NanoGong showed up, but now only the one circled shows up (I think the other one had square brackets around it and was in or near the indented area where my arrow is pointing. I used this activity nearly 40 times, but I can't remember exactly now. Am I right? Was there a 2nd NanoGong choice in the "Add an Activity" menu? Was it only in NanoGong 3.2 and not ver. 4?

I think you are referring to an assignment type that used NanoGong. We didn't make and maintain that one. Therefore it is likely that you have not installed the assignment type in your new Moodle.

Another question now:
I'd like to use the NanoGong HTMLArea in Moodle versions 1.99+
Is that available? I noticed the website listed only versions: 1.7.4, 1.7.7, 1.8.4, 1.8.11, 1.9.2, 1.9.4, 1.9.6 and 1.9.7
(taken from http://gong.ust.hk/nanogong/moodle_inst.html)

To answer your question in another of your reply: yes, it is just 1 line to modify for weblib.php. It is because it is the only place we have changed for that particular file. However you should note that we also have other files included in the NanoGong HTMLArea package. Those files will have to be copied to the Moodle directory as well.

hello everyone, I have the moodle version 1.9.9. I installed nanogong version 4 two days ago and I did every steps in the installation page of nanogong again ang again.. I updated weblib.php... I did everything but still I have problems.. When I click on "add sound" button on my toolbar, a small windows come but there arent any buttons on this window.. I mean I cant see the nanogong player buttons. Furthermore when I add a caption on this window and click on OK, nothing happens.. There are some problems.. Can you please help me..
Rgrds,
Paul.
Also what version of 3 did you use? 3.0; 3.1; 3.2; or 3.3 (which allowed for backup and restore I believe)
This might also be a question for Gibson Lam:
What about tweaking the weblib.php file as described here:
http://gong.ust.hk/nanogong/doc_faq.html#latest_version_question
Should that allow the extended HTML toolbar to work for version 1.9.9+? It seems like such a simple change. Could it be that easy?
Nathan
In which aspect does it fail? We haven't tested it out on a 1.9.9 with our NanoGong 4. However it works for all the versions we have tested on up to 1.9.7:

UPDATE: Silly me. I had to reinstall the HTMLAREA package. I used the version for 1.9.7 and it appears to work fine out of the box. No editing of the weblib.php file needed in my case.
Hello,
I'm using Moodle 1.9.10. The HTML area for Nanogong is causing the following error when I try to mannually add a user:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function print_password_policy() in .../moodle/user/editadvanced_form.php on line 40
When I use the backup version, no error. Using the Nanogong Html area patch leads to the error. I can't fix this myself. Can anyone suggest a way to fix this. I have become rather fond of using the voice recording feature in my forums.
Thanks
Very interested in your zip file - and thanks for offering it to everyone !
