Seriously, any browser which is standard compliant, will not have problems. It looks like MS does not want that. IE8 had at least the "mock" button, IE9 is going in the opposite direction http://news.cnet.com/8301-30685_3-20000433-264.html

Moodle works with IE8.

If making a change across your system, you should of course verify it with your own situation (your chosen theme etc) first, i.e. actually try IE8 on your own Moodle not just Moodle in general, make sure it's okay.
