I got not response for this on Gradebook forum so I thought I'd tap into the developers' knowledge...
I have installed Custom SQL reports plug-in: http://docs.moodle.org/en/Custom_SQL_queries_report
Would appreciate help in defining a query for finding/displaying all activity grades of all students in a certain course category. Moodle version is 1.9.5+ (Build: 20090624)
Also - is there a description of the database tables structure somewhere for future query reference?

Hi Amir,
I am not sure the Custom SQL will be enough to get gradebook data in an useful way. There is more logic behing grades processing in Moodle.
IMO what you want is to write your own gradebook report. See the current standard reports for the reference.
