Hi all,
jetbrains has a new WebIDE for PHP development that I find to be awsome.

http://www.jetbrains.com/webide/index.html

It is NOT free. it is still in beta but there is also a community version that is free with less bells and whistles.

I highly recommend playing around with this. I was using eclipse for php development of moodle and left many things to be desired. e.g. I never really figured out how to search for a symbol (ie. variable) in eclipse other than doing a search in file for a string. Its a breeze with this IDE and allows you to navigate to all instances easily. Javascript, css, html support is very complete. Debugging is available out of the box. Source code integration is available out of the box. No plugins to worry about although the plugin framework is much easier to use that Eclipse plugin framework.

Just too many things to list that I find superior to eclipse.

and remember... jumping to a function is a Option-mouse click away (Mac). Ctrl-mouse click on PC.

I don't wish to start a IDE matchup war here. Developers have very strong feelings about their choice tools. Just wanted to spread the news.

John.

I have always preferred NetBeans to Eclipse out of the free IDE systems. However I had a job a couple of years ago where the JetBrains tool was used and it left a very good impression with me.
