I'm trying to set up moodle to operate on a chapter based format. So topic 1 should read as Chapter 1: Scientific Methodology, etc.
How do I set that up in moodle?

Go to administration > language > language editing and load the moodle.php file for editing. Quite a way down the page you will find an entry called "nametopics, change this to Chapter and save the changes.
