Hi all,

I'm currently writing a VLE policy/procedure document for my college. Can anyone give me an example of one to use as a basis?

email: vle@nortcoll.ac.uk

thanks

Scott

I am not quite sure what you are asking for. Could you give a bit more detail and then you might get some answers?

I have a highly detailed guideline set up for  instructors and course creators, in book format. These kinds of documents tend to be very school specific but if you think seeing how someone else does it would help I'll send it on.

Hi E.L.,

I have to write a similar manual and it would help me immensely to look at your book. I have a feeling that I could copy more than half "as is" for my school, and the rest school-specific. It would be great to have an editable sample downloadable in Moodle Docs if you are willing to share it.

Is the format in Moodle "Book" format, or a pdf printed as a book?

Thanks,
Don

I keep it in book format so that editing is easy based on what ever school it is for since I work with so many. Emailing to you right now. The orginal idea was to make it a contribution to docs but I have yet to get it less school specifiic.

I am also in the same boat as Don, needing to write a document on policy and procedures for the college. I would greatly appreciate access to your document.

If you would not mind sharing, my email address is as follows:

Have a great day.

Sounds like you have a fan club already, E.L.
Could we accelerate the process by collaborating online? - I'm in a private University, but am more than happy to take a look at 'genericising' your original and/or adjusting for the HE level.

OK does everyone who wanted a copy have it? Did I send you one Paul? I have been buried under two clients with server issues (freelance=feast or famine) for the last week but there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. Just coming off an all nighter of server madness.

I'd love working this as a collaboration and as I am sure everyone who has seen the document can tell there are gaps in it based on what the schools I have worked with use or don't use that sorely needs to be filled so here is my idea- if we leave the original intact (for now) and anyone who wishes to contribute add their own (signed for credit) version as a sub chapter in book. Then in a couple of weeks we set up a skype conference to see where we are at?

Yes and thanks for your help earlier today. It is now installed on our system and I cant wait to have a play with the book module!! Looks great!

I am in a secondary school...and will be bringing a primary on so if anyone wants to look at that aspect that would be great. I will look at ammending it for the k-12 environment.

Good to go, but need to be finished by 20th of June as time will just not be my own by then

Perfect. I have zero experience with k-12. My work to date has been with trade schools, private and public universities, ceu providers, standardized testing training sites for industry and academic placement tests. I could set it up in a collaborative classroom if there is an interest in doing that.

I'm me-tooing Frances.

A policy might be FERPA-like (U.S.A.): "Prevent people who should not see grades from seeing them."

A procedure might be as simple as "We use a template course from which to replicate identical sections of a course."

Need a little clarification.

Sounds like an 'off the shelf' moodle policies book would be useful to a lot of folks - could we build one together in the moodle community area ??
