Message to Mr Cook and his students

I have moved the Rondout students' post to a temporary forum (this link does not work for Moodlers - see reply to this message). If you want to continue these conversations please do it there.
It was quite surprising to suddenly have these posts in the Social forum- a bit like a crowd of strangers arriving and having a loud and slightly silly conversation. Anyway I am sure it has been a learning experience for the students and for Mr Cook (who is probably booking on the Digital Literacy course even as we speak). If any of you students wanted to tell us what you have learned from the experience, I for one would be interested in a sensible discussion.
You might be interested to view this slide show too.

Apologies for suggesting you could access this - it seems to work differently since we moved to Social layout so until I work it out, students' previous postings are safe but currently invisible.

Dear Frances,

Thanks and sorry for any inconvenience, we sort of crash landed onto the moodle site.

I told the school to close down student access until further notice.

We have an inclass library and are looking for an online place for secondary students to chat about what are they reading.  If you have any ideas please advise.

Thanks,

David Cook

Hi David - no need to stop student online access - we were surprised but not damaged.  I have moved all the posts to a temporary forum and Helen Foster has helped me make it visible now (thanks Helen!).

Regarding where your students could chat and meet, I think that you need somewhere that they can make their space. How about Ning http://www.ning.com/ or Google groups http://groups.google.com/?
