Does anyone know if it is possible to add a custom page to the Site Administration block?

I mean adding it cleanly, as you may add a new Block, Module or Plugin, without having to change Moodle's core code.

Hi Lorenzo, if I understood, you have to go to the site administration menu and open the Front Page option, there you select Front Page Settings. Now you can edit how you want your Front Page appearance, you need to have a check mark on "Include a topic section". Save your changes, when returning to the Front page you are going to see the editing button at the right, so you can add any resource or activity as you do in a Moodle course.

Good luck

Carmen, He was referring to the actual Site Administration block as opposed to the front page course. He has a great block that would be perfect to add as a report-type item http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=75756#p520222 You might check it out!

This will be a great enhancement, Lorenzo! clown I'm glad you looked into it further!

Thanks, Tim for pointing us to the admin report options. I was aware of it, but not really aware of it, if that makes sense. This will be very useful for several things we're working on (once I learn to code better - or maybe I should say code period *lol*).

Yes. You can do it by adding a new Admin report.

And as of a few months ago, you can tell Moodle to put the report anywhere in the admin tree, it does not have to go under reports. It is even documented. See Development:Admin_reports.
