I'm having trouble with some of the icons not appearing in edit mode even though the path to the icon is correct.

When I try to look at some of them in any image editor I get an error like "this is a PNG file with incorrect extension" or unknown file format?

Those I 've had a problem with so far are in the Foodle\pix\t   folder.

Can anyone here help me figure this out?

This is the way it should look (and, yes it is bigger than in standard white)

Running Moodle 1.92

I seem to have come up with a problem with Foodle. (Excellent theme)

I have created a course and I want to link to a file which is an html file whose contents are a single FAQ page, with Bookmarks to the FAQ answers on the same page. This has been uploaded to the files folder within the course, I'm using a text hyper link to this html file.

I have created the text hyperlink in the editor and linked it to the uploaded file and made it open in a new window.

However when I click on the text hyperlink I'm presented with a small log in to site box. Which is odd because I'm already logged in - however on logging back in using this box and clicking on the text hyperlink the same thing happens.

I must point out that this only happens in IE7 but the link functions OK and displays the html document using Firefox?

Are you sure this is related to Foodle theme? What happens when you switch the theme to standard white?

It would help us if you could send the same files that produce this error so that we can test them on our servers.

Thanks

I'm using one of the Newbury College themes but will most probably migrate over to Foodle, so I'm looking at using Smartmenus  http://www.smartmenus.org/  which will give me something more in keeping with the Foodle theme. Just need to work out how to insert the code into Foodle.

In case of rss feeds and bottom debug info we can say that this behaviour is by design since those elements have applied font size 0.9em from standard theme font size which for Foodle is 11pt. I will check with our designers and get back to you with information what should be changed in case you want bigger font size in these areas.

As for the "My courses" block I can not help you since that appears to be some third-party block which does not come with standard moodle distribution.

Here is what our designer says:

to change the font size in the Remote news Feeds block:
In the css file styles_fonts.css, look for this code:

.sideblock .head,
.sideblock .info,
.sideblock .event {
font-size: 0.9em;
}

The font could be changed to the desired font size in points or to 1.1em

This is because Foodle uses custom icons and expects to find them in foodle pix folder and not in global one. This means you will have to copy all icons from your custom modules into <moodle>/theme/foodle/pix folder with appropriate relative path. For example if you have activity module foo installed in <moodle>/mod/foo it's icon will be located in <moodle>/mod/foo/icon.gif. Just copy that file into <moodle>/theme/foodle/pix/mod/foo and repeat simmilar process for all other activities.

Julian Ridden發表於
If I could make a suggestion here.

i would recommend not using custompix. The issues, as show above, means that often there are missing icons.

But have no fear, there is a better solution.

First, in the theme's "config.php" set custompix to "false"

Then in moodle's admin block, do a search for "smart pix" and turn it on.

When SmartPix is enabled moodle will search the theme folder and use custom icons there. If they are abscent it then automatically uses the standard icon instead. You get the new icons without having places with no icons at all

Chi, we are very glad you like the theme.
The way to hide those arrows, is by adding a line of code to the css style sheet of the theme.
The theme style sheet name is "social_network.css". Try finding this bit of code in it:

.invisiblefieldset {
border:0 none;
display:inline;
margin:0;
padding:5px;
}

What you will need to add at the end of it, is: display: none;
So the final bit of code will look like this:

.invisiblefieldset {
border:0 none;
display:inline;
margin:0;
padding:5px;
display:none;
}

By doing this, the arrows used to navigate the activities will be hidden.
Please let us know if you encounter any problems.

Hi there. I absolutely love your Foodle theme - it is the most aesthetically pleasing theme I have ever used in Moodle (our school has been using Moodle for about 4 years now so we have tried a lot of different themes!).

I really do want to use only this theme, however I am having a problem when viewing it in Internet Explorer (see attached image). When I create a quiz with drop-down boxes, the text in the drop-down boxes gets cut off, so you cannot see the whole sentence (i.e. the drop-down box is not wide enough).

This is happening for my students - some are using Windows XP, others are using Vista, and others are using Windows 7. Some are using Internet Explorer 7, while others are using Internet Explorer 8.

Is there a setting I can change in Moodle admin back-end to make the drop-down box wider? Or is it a setting in your theme's CSS files?

I have also updated my Moodle site with the latest version of your theme which I downloaded from your website this morning.

Please help me as I really love your theme!

It's ../pix/tab/ not ../fix/tab but YES it is missing! You could copy the tab folder from Standard theme, I think that should fix the problem! Although if it written correctly in the css (which I think it is) it will by default pick up the images from the standard theme's tab folder anyway!

I copied the files before but wondered, if there might be any problem with the coherency of the design.
How do you mean "if it written correctly in the css (which I think it is)". I checked the file, it goes to "pix/tab/..." so the standard theme seems to be ignored. changing the path to ../standard/pix/tab would solve it - or am i missing something.
I just wonder, if it can be corrected, so that webserver using the theme stop producing error.logs full of these "file not found"-warnings.

Re: New theme from UVCMS MoodleSolutions - Foodle

Mary Evans發表於
You can add the TAB folder to you PIX folder there won't be a conflict of design since the tab folder was not in the ZIP file, so my guess is that the TAB images are being brought in, by default, from the standard theme's folder. You don't need to write this into your css, it's done automatically.

You can check to see if tabs are being used if you select your profile page. There should be a line of tabs at the top with Profile/Edit Profile/Forum/ etx...

In my original post I was intimating that although you had typed fix instead of pix it could well have been the case that you had fix instead of pix in your theme's CSS mark-up! Although I was almost certain it would be spelled correctly...and it was!

Mary

Edit;

I just thought of something...if you just creat a TAB folder inside you PIX folder but leave it empty, your server will stop sending out error messages and your tab images will still be coming from Standard theme.

Mary Evans發表於
Aaron,

The custom CSS file for Foodle is found in social_network.css

If you upload a logo to your theme folder and call it logo.jpg or logo.gif or logo.png you can then add the following css mark-up to social_network.css

#header, #header-home{
background-color:#3B5998 url(logo.jpg) no-repeat left top;
margin-top: 0px;
height: 200px;
border:1px solid #526ea6;
border-bottom:#fff 1px solid;
}

You can then decide on the height of the header to accommodate the logo.

Hope this helps?

Also, depending on the logo, and how you want it to appear, you might have to use absolute positioning.

Mary Evans發表於

Hi this is caused by not having a line-hight defined in the CSS. Depending on the name of the CSS file for this theme, and also depending on whether or not the text you are talking about is casue by the h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 (headers) or p (paragraph)  will govern the way the CSS needs to be worded. But this will probably fix the problem. Add this to the very end of the CSS file. If you have one called font_style.css add it to that...

h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, p { line-height: 1}

Thank you, Mary, for your quick response and for taking the time to offer some help.  I added your suggested solution to the style_font.css file in the Flex_foodle theme folder but it didn't make any difference.  I also checked to see if increasing the size from 1 to 3 would show any difference but it didn't.  I then added the same sytax to the social_network.css file thinking maybe this file is somehow governing the conversion from the HTML editor to the web page.  Again no change.  I really like the Flex_foodle theme but this font spacing problem is really frustrating.  If you have any idea what I going on, I would really be grateful for a solution.
