Hardware and performance

Thanks for both helpful replies. I'll try to install it on the local Windows 2003 server for comparison. I'd like to install Apache, MySQL and PHP if possible.

However, IIS 6 is not installed but seems very easy to add. MsSQL 2005 would have to be purchased (I think), so it looks like I'll use MySQL and PHP - Non-thread-safe version with FastCGI seems a good option, I hope?
