The assignment module is currently undergoing a refactoring into
class-based submodules, much like the facelift that Resource and Quiz modules have
recently had. When this is done the Journal module will be subsumed as
an Online Assignment type, and I would even like to see the Exercise
module converted too (if possible).
Most
of the stuff you've listed has already been discussed here as part of
our wishlists, so if you can wait a little while for Pablo Etcheverry to get back to us with the basic refactoring work done then I hope you can
help us work on refining it and adding new submodules.
