Hello everyone!

First of all, great job, Toni! From the screenshot posted on the download page, it looks like it's just what I need for my moodle installation. But I'm having some difficulty in setting it up... (I have been using moodle for only a couple of weeks after all big grin so it's very possible I'm missing something...)

Anyway... I followed your installation instructions from the documentation supplied but it seems it's still something I haven't fully understood or need to be doing...

  1. I copied the email folder into my moodle folder.
  2. I copied the blocks/email_list folder into moodle/blocks.
  3. I copied the files from lang/en into moodle/lang/en.
  4. I copied the files from lang/en_utf8 into moodle/lang/en_utf8.
  5. I'm not quite sure what I was supposed to do here: "Añadir los estilos que se encuentran en email/email.css en los estilos que dejéis usar." (Google translation: "Add styles that are in email/email.css in styles that dejéis use. These are in moodle/theme/"). What does it mean? Do I have to copy the file email/email.css into my moodle/theme/folder? Not knowing what to do, I skipped this step... sad
  6. According to step 6 from the documentation, I entered my moodle site as administrator and clicked on the notifications link and installed eMail successfully.
  7. I don't understand however what I'm supposed to do at step 7 from the documentation: "Para usarlo, tendremos que añadir el bloque email_list en todos y cada uno de los cursos en los que queramos que se pueda acceder a él." (Google translation: "To use it, we will have to add the block email_list in each of the courses that want to be able to access it.") What does it mean? Do I have to copy the blocks/email_list folder into my moodle/course folder or what?
As you can see, I'm having some difficulties at steps 5 and 7. Can anyone (who has been able to successfully install and use this plugin) please help me?

And if one day I decide to stop using this plugin, how would I uninstall it?

I am using
Moodle 1.9.1+, XAMPP for Windows 1.6.6a, and downloaded eMail-latest.tar.gz.

I'm not sure, but i understand that you have to copy the content from email.css into the css style file that your theme is using.

7. No, what you have to do is to add the block in the course. For do this you have to [turn editting on] in the course and select the new block in the 'blocks' block 微笑

Probably your module installation it's ok so, try it.

Thank you very much Alejandro!!! approve

I followed your advice for no. 7 and it worked. I now have a fully functional webmail system for my Moodle installation. Thank you very much again!!!

P.S.: Copying the contents of email.css to the css file of my theme did not change anything... But the UI it's OK as it is now... Good luck to you! wink
