Job offered: Create a Very Cool Database Module for Vienna Virtuoso

Type: Contract
Location: Vienna, Austria/Online

I would like to create a database module that does the following. User is a music student who wants to share their practice so it will get rated and also rate other student’s practices based on relevant criteria. The student records a practice on Youtube or Vimeo and pastes their practice video to a form (like a database). The form criteria are 1) link to video, 2) composer, 3) name of piece, 4) name of student, 5) student level of playing - choose from 3 options (beginner, intermediate, advanced). After the student submits their practice, the student receives a message with 3 other students’ practices based on the information written in the form. The user then uses a rating function to rate the practices of the other students. If there are no other entries that match the submitted form, then the videos that have the least amount of ratings are sent to the user. Importantly, the videos sent to the user cannot be from the same level of playing (e.g. beginner cannot rate beginner). Like the standard database module, the average of ratings is visible to the student.

This is going to be part of a very innovative international social program that encourages students to practice instruments.

Our current system is based on the existing database module with a rating function as explained in this video:
