ATLAS invites applications for a
E-Learning Specialist. The E-Learning Specialist is responsible for
instructional technology support in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Assist with the day-to-day management of the Learning Management Systems (LMS)
and various other technologies used by the college for the delivery and support
of online course materials.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
•Support faculty, instructors, TAs, and students using
the college's learning management systems
•Assist faculty, instructors, and TAs with the creation
and delivery of online courses
•Develop documentation to assist users with
instructional tools
•Provide user feedback to system administrators and
developers about possible LMS upgrades and changes
•Manage projects and workloads for undergraduate student
workers
•Assist with testing and evaluation of upgrades to
existing LMS web-based technologies
•Research new and emerging LMS technologies, as well as
opportunities for their adoption to support the college's instructional mission
•Assist the Teaching and Learning Team with online
course evaluation
•Provide input and suggestions for operational policies
for instructional technology tools
•Develop and conduct technology workshops for faculty
and instructors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor's Degree
Experience:
•At least two years of experience in an education
setting providing support to instructors.
•Ability to create instructional online content,
including - managing test banks, building learning modules, and creating
different grading systems.
•Experience writing technical documentation for
non-technical users
•Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
•Excellent presentation skills in a workshop or
classroom setting.
•Effective communication skills and the ability to
interact professionally with a diverse group of professionals.
•Ability to work productively in a team environment
Preferred Experience:
•At least one year of experience with Moodle
•Experience testing and evaluating LMS upgrades and
enhancements
•Familiarity with web-based conferencing tools such as
Elluminate
•At least 1 year of supervisory experience
•Experience conducting program evaluation
•Experience creating accessible online content
•Previous experience with creating policies in a higher
education setting
The E-Learning Specialist is a
full-time, benefits-eligible academic professional position appointed on a
12-month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after
the closing date. Applicants may be interviewed before the closing date;
however, no hiring decision will be made until after that date. Salary is
commensurate with experience and qualifications.
