Coventry University London Campus is looking for an experienced Learning Technologies Officer for a period of 6 months.
Salary : £34,000 pro rata
1.
PURPOSE
The
Learning Technologies Officer will be a member of the Library and Learning Skills
team, and work closely with academic staff to deliver CULC's commitment to the
effective use of twenty-first century learning technologies. The post offers an
exciting opportunity to work with an enthusiastic team of staff to design,
implement and evaluate
technology-enhanced
learning on Coventry University London Campus.
2.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.
Work with academic staff to design, develop, implement and evaluate the
effective use of educational technologies in teaching, learning and assessment
at CULC.
2.
Take ownership of the VLE at CULC (Moodle) in terms of development, overall
processes and high-level administration, and training users of Moodle
(Academics, Students and Support and Professional staff) as required.
3.
Maintain, update and oversee the quality and consistency of CULC learning
objects and their presentation on the VLE and other locations such as I-TunesU.
4.
Maintain and provide technical support for educational technologies used on
campus.
5. As
part of the Library and Learning Skills team, work with others to deliver
technology enabled projects across the campus.
6.
Engage in staff development activities to enhance the skills of staff in the
use of learning technology, and to disseminate good practice for the delivery
of learning materials and assessment.
7.
Engage in student induction and training to enhance the skills of students in
the use of learning technology.
8.
Provide advice and technical support regarding compatibility of the institution's
VLEs and other third party software taking into account technological
developments.
9.
Maintain a network of links and effective working relationships with colleagues
in Coventry and appropriate external organisations, identifying and sharing
best practice.
10.
Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act (1998) and the Freedom of
Information Act (2001), and all other rules and regulations that govern the
work completed for CULC.
11.
Undertake such duties as may be specified from time to time by the Director of
CULC
Reports
This
position reports to the Head of Library and Learning Skills of the Coventry
University London Campus.

Experience
Essential:
•Degree
or equivalent in relevant discipline.
•Experience
of working with a major VLE preferably Moodle
•Experience
of exploiting new technologies for e-learning.
·An active interest in the use of
technology to support learning
•Excellent
project management skills, including experience of planning and organising
tasks, working across a range of teams and reviewing progress and outcomes.
•Ability
to learn new IT applications swiftly
•Ability
to generate and follow through innovative ideas
