Learning Technology Systems Analyst – Team Lead

IT Services, Project Planning

 

Reporting to the Manager, Project Planning, IT-Services, you will be responsible for the overall evaluating and adopting of additional existing and emerging learning technologies.  Your primary responsibility however, will be maintaining the version currency of the university’s Learning Management Systems (LMS) based on Moodle.   In addition, you will lead the development of Moodle customizations and facilitate their adoption by the Moodle community into future releases.   Although not directly responsible for managing employee performance, you will regularly direct the efforts of dynamically staffed cross-functional teams.

 

To be well suited to the role you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Must have a degree or diploma in Computer Science with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience

  • Experience leading, mentoring and coaching small development teams

  • Demonstrated experience with Moodle, PHP development and LAMP environments

  • Experience with the Agile development methodology

  • Experience in project management

  • Experience in conducting user requirements sessions and analysing business requirements would be an asset

  • An in-depth understanding of information systems, the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and unit testing

  • Able to communicate complex and technical ideas to others in plain language

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Knowledge of current and emerging technologies

  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills  as well as a strong customer service orientation

  • Advanced time management skills

 

This is a regular full-time position working 37.5 hours per week on campus.  The position has been evaluated at Grade 4 and the recruitment range starts at $53,768 per annum.  The University is pleased to offer a comprehensive benefits package.
