Children's National Medical Center's Medical Education department is seeking a PHP/Moodle Developer with 3 to 5 years of experience and a strong interest in standing up and maintaining several Moodle-based Learning Management Systems (LMS). As a member of CNMC, the applicant must be able to multi-task and have a broad understanding of the challenges involved in successfully hosting and managing an LMS. We are looking for someone with initiative and a hands-on approach to problem-solving who enjoys sharing their knowledge with fellow members of the team. He/she must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Requirements:

·4-10 years of experience with Moodle LMS development and LAMP Stack (Linux, Apcahe, MySQL, and PHP)

·Participated in corporate rollouts of Moodle LMS. Able to integrate scalable LMS solutions in an existing enterprise that may require Single Sign On and/or other software customizations.

·Experience of different hosting solutions and knowledge of relevant security requirements.

·Familiarity with object-oriented programming and experience with Moodle's development framework (Moodle 2 with 3rd party plugins).

·Experience with Moodle Module / Block Development, and Moodle web services.

·Thorough understanding of multimedia platforms and LMS course development, including Flash, and accessibility techniques such as 508 compliance and SCORM courses.

·Proficient using PHP debugging tools.

·Familiar with Moodle's Unit Test APISolid PHP knowledge including Moodle template building and theme functions.

·Web development experience including HTML, Javascript/JQuery, YUI and CSS.

·Experience with data management in MySQL or other databases.

·Able to handle a fast-paced work environment, deadlines and new challenges.

·Able to work to tight time schedules and deliver quality product on time.

·Qualified candidates will be required to undergo a background investigation and will sponsored for a US visa
