 Job Scope:

Reporting directly to the Director of Academics, the Instructional Designer will build CanGlory Everon’s capacity to deliver curriculum in a range of eLearning options (online). They will provide support for the implementation of e-learning strategies, and work with teaching staff to develop sustainable high quality online learning activities appropriate for the discipline, incorporating sound educational design principles, and consistent with CanGlory Everon’s policies.

 Primary Responsibilities:

·    Collaborate with faculty staff in the development of curriculum for online delivery;

·    Assist academic staff to design sustainable high-quality e-learning and online assessment activities incorporating sound educational design principles that are consistent with CanGlory Everon’s use of Universal Design Learning Principles and CanGlory’s Everon’s Standardize Lesson Plan model. This will involve working with curriculum experts to support the modifying existing curriculum materials to be compatible with an online environment. Prompts that enables students to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Chatbots in the online assessment activities need to be created and included in the courses.

·    Develop training resources and facilitate groups of staff in learning how to use the CanGlory Everon online learning management system. For example, supporting the help-desk, providing course feedback, training material and site communication through teacher features (or through a like site-wide announcement);

·    Develop online course content that will be delivered to students through CanGlory Everon’s Moodle LMS;

·    Manage project tasks, coordinate with the Director of Academics to deliver e-learning projects on time;

·    Act as an ambassador for online learning at CanGlory Everon, and promote the program by sharing ideas and information with a diverse range of stakeholders to facilitate the achievement of CanGlory Everon’s e-Learning goals;

Requirements:

1.   Education

·     Bachelor degree in Education or Instructional Design

2.   Experience

·     Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in the K-12 education sector

·     Proven experience developing standardized curriculum content

·     Experience with a learning management system, preferably Moodle

·     Experience with course authoring software, preferable Articulate 365 and/or H5P

·     Experience and/or knowledge to input formulas and equations using equation editors

3.   Competencies/Personal Attributes

·     A self-motivated individual with the ability to work remotely

·     Strong educational and pedagogical understanding

·     Proven ability to effectively deliver professional development and/or adult training, including the use of coaching and mentoring.

·     Proven ability to communicate clearly to a school community through a variety of mediums

·     Understanding of challenges and ability to adapt to the organization’s structure

·     Sensitive to local culture and able to work with a multicultural work force

·     English working proficiency is a must.  Chinese (Mandarin) working proficiency is a plus but not necessary.
