An established firm in the field of Filmmaking, Arts and Entertainment offers courses via online Moodle environments. In addition to feature film development and production, this firm is on the cutting edge designing and providing education, training and support to new and aspiring filmmakers in the global digital “net generation” era. This may lead to a permanent equity position for the right individual.
We seek a Developer / Administrator for PHP/Moodle environments to provide PHP programming support for the administration and development of customized applications, themes and modules for use in a Moodle-based learning management system for our fast growing member base. Filmmaking experience is not required but would be preferred. We can teach you what you need to know in this exciting new field.
Specific responsibilities include: performing application development and GUI design for online courses using Moodle; performing user and quality assurance testing for applications, systems and learning objects; supporting and maintaining the LMS application by customizing applications and performing daily maintenance and updates; providing technical support to staff members and end users for both LMS and online course objects; assisting with related site updates, content archiving and providing technical recommendations; generating reports and statistical data on websites, LMS and learning objects; assisting in the development of requirements documentation and project plans; performing research and providing recommendations related to the use of open source customizations and modules.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Multimedia or related field required. The selected candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience working with the following programs/areas: PHP, MySQL Moodle (with specific experience in customized Moodle and Linux system administration), information architecture, e-learning standards, technical specifications (SCORM etc.)
This project is in B design stage moving into Alpha testing and immediately requires a Moodle Developer / Administrator on a contracted consulting basis, however with our firm expanding we may consider a permanent equity position for the right individual.
