Moodle Support Specialist and Developer

Lambda Solutions is currently seeking a results-oriented Moodle specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, reporting, and resolving Service Requests, serving as a liaison between the client and all IT delivery teams to ensure that client requests are handled in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Single point of contact for clients requiring support telephone and/or automated notifications and alerts
  • Maintain communication with client throughout the duration of an escalation
  • Responsible for identifying requirements/resources to complete existing requests
  • Ensure that all cases are resolved and/or assigned as per prescribed procedures
  • Required to interact with all levels of the business, including senior executives
  • Provide status updates to management and IT delivery, as required
  • Customization of Moodle as per project requirements
  • Development of Moodle modules or plug-ins

Work Experience, Education, Competencies

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Moodle
  • Post-Secondary Education in Computer Science/Engineering or any equivalent combination of training and experience preferred
  • 3+ years experience working on a IT help desk
  • Proficient in PHP and HTML
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in open source application software development
  • LAMP Stack Administration would be an asset
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite as well as Adobe Design Suite
  • Detail and process oriented
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working in a team oriented development environment
