E-learning Systems Administrator

A Vancouver based TEKsystems client is looking for an E-learning systems administrator for a 6 month contract to hire opportunity. This resource will be part of the support team for the client’s e-learning system.

A successful candidate will have worked with E-learning management systems before and held a systems administrator position. This resouce could have worked with WebCT, Moodle or Blackboard. They should be technically sound with experience in web design using XML, html, CSS and JavaScript alongside common web development applications. This individual will be working with various users and therefore this position requires strong interpersonal and communication.


Primary Responsibilities

- Provides systems technical service support and programming to users and staff by modifying existing programming logic

- Debugs modified learning management system programs; codes necessary instructions

- Assists users to resolve problems; modifying existing program logic using detailed specifications under mentorship of the E-learning team lead.

- Codes necessary instructions using established LMS standards and principles

- tests and debugs modified LMS programs

- documents findings for review by E-Learning team lead

- coordinates implements and maintains web enabled learning management system

- Creates, updates and maintains components and themes on LMS while ensuring standard web development practices and the LMS design guidelines are respected

- Provides technical administrative support to users of the E-learning system during regular working hours; troubleshooting system issues and maintaining quality assurance.

- Keeps technical support systems, including the LMS user database, up to date and accurate

- Assists in the development and delivery of orientation and training material
