Technology Support Associate

Cambridge Educational Services is a financially secure, small to medium-sized firm offering test preparation and other educational products and services.  Several years of steady growth, increasing product demand, and reinvestment have positioned the firm for major expansion.

We are seeking a Technology Support Associate.  Though knowledge of programming is necessary for this position, this role requires additional projection management and content development skills.  The ideal candidate will be positive and enjoy interpersonal interaction; highly intuitive with the ability to think abstractly and arrive at concrete solutions; and possess self-confidence, imagination, and individual initiative. Job Responsibilities:

-Develop and support educational software for both Windows client and web applications, including developing courses on Moodle.

-Deploy scripts to enhance office information resources.

-Create detailed specifications, implementation plans, and timelines.

-Collaborate with external developers to realize products quickly.

-Maintain clear and detailed documentation of activities and report to management on a regular basis through daily department meetings, project management software, and email.

-Develop and support educational products such as web courses, CD-ROMs, and presentational materials.

-Coordinate content development among authors and editors.

-Manage information resources such as item and content databases.

Required Skills:

-Experience with Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard, Moodle, or WebCT.

-Ability to manage distributed projects and coordinate with outside developers.

-Strong familiarity with computers and web applications, desire to learn new technologies.

-Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, or XML is a plus.

-Visual Studio, SharePoint, or LAMP knowledge a plus.

-Proficiency in C#, Java, or C++.

-Comfortable integrating with databases such as MySQL, MSSQL, or Oracle.

-Knowledge of a scripting language such as Python, Perl, or Ruby.

-Experience with web application implementation using ASP .Net, JSP, AJAX, Ruby on Rails, and / or PHP is a plus.

-Flexibility in working with Windows, OSX, and Linux platforms.

-FileMaker, Visual Studio, Office Interop, Sharepoint knowledge a plus.

Education and experience:

-This position requires a minimum of a 4-year undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related area.

-1-3 years of technology experience, preferably in software development.

-Background in education market is a plus.

-Minimum ACT Score 25 or SAT Score 1740

-Minimum GPA 3.0

Compensation:

-Base salary commensurate with experience with annual bonus potential dependant on department-based incentives.
