ASA is looking for a full-time Education LMS Production Specialist to join their Park Ridge office.

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for supporting the day to day operation of the learning management system , including assembling, entering and maintaining content, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting internal and external users. Will assist in the creation of course content including - text, graphics and animations provided by other team members; will use storyboards to construct the courseware and fit content into an appropriate delivery form; will develops the scripts that translate interactive portions of a traditional classroom course, such as discussions and quizzes, into an online format.

Position Responsibilities:

This position is not static and will be revised as the need of the organization’s business evolves.

 

  1. 1.      Major Activity: Ensures LMS supports performance and quality of elearning products working with Instructional designer, IT and drupal/moodle programmers.
  2. 2.      Major Activity: Uses the instructional design scripts, assembles different elements (text, audio, video, graphics and animation) into a coherent program, develops the rapid prototype, creates databases and constructs reporting mechanisms used for student tracking and debugs the program through alpha and beta tests.

 

  1. 3.      Major Activity: Develops action plans, timetables, benchmarks, quantitative targets for online program and projects.

 

  1. 4.      Major Activity: Produces and analyzes system reports and recommends best practice solutions to creative design or technical requests or related issues with LMS system and learning activity configurations..

 

  1. 5.      Major Activity: Supports development projects with technical documentation; track development schedules and deadlines

 

  1. 6.      Major Activity: Creates Web interface graphics for e-learning products using a variety of tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator and authoring systems (e.g. Flash, Toolbook, Rapid Intake, Captivate, Articulate, etc) that facilitate e-learning creation.

 

Education and Training:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in instructional technology or related degree.

Work Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience with LMS administration (Moodle a plus) and content management system (Drupal a plus)
  • 3+ years experience with graphic design packages including Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Freehand, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and 3D Studio Max and simulation tools .
  • Experience with course authoring software, including Captivate, Articulate and Camstasia.
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously handle a large and diverse number of technical tasks and issues with tact, cooperation and persistence.
  • Basic  HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, desirable. Intermediate to advanced skill level with  MS Office Suite, especially PowerPoint.. Experience running a website with 10,000+ registered users, major associations a plus.
  • Experience with search engine optimization.
  • Experience with e-commerce.
  • Experience with CRM or association membership management.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Will spend the majority of the workday sitting, computing, and talking. Proofreading of materials for an extended period of time. Required infrequent lifting in the 5 – 15 pounds range. Work may be frequently interrupted. The work environment consists of an office environment with light noise. OSHA Category III: position whose tasks/duties will not put them at risk for exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials, therefore, universal/standard precautions are not required.
