PHP Developer Job Description:
Stack Rank Top 3 skill sets:
1) 5 years of PHP development. They are looking for a strong web developer to help out with a new LMS project (Learning Management System)
2) 2 years of SQL database experience. They are working on a MS SQL 2008 platform not a MySQL.
3) 1+ years of a learning management system (LMS). They are currently using the tool Moodle.
Qualifications:
The development team has begun a 3 month project developing Moodle and getting it up and running for the 2000 students that are enrolled in online classes. Over the next 6 months they will be getting all 20,000 students on a single LMS platform. No one on the team has strong web development experience. Most people are responsible for application development. This person would be the LMS SME and one of the only web developers on the team.
Business Challenge to solve: Currently, our Client has 2000 students that are enrolled in college online using Moodle. Over the next 6 months they will begin to give all 20,000 students access to Moodle and it will be an all inclusive LMS tool so that individuals in the classroom can interact with students who are taking the college classes online.
Expected Duration: Can be either a Permanent position -OR- a contract-to-hire position depending on what the candidate wants.
Impact to Customer: This position is going to impact all 20,000 students and give them access to an online LMS. It will allow the students to be more interactive.
Why is position open? This is a new position. It was created by the growth being experienced by our client. They grew 20% this past year and are expected to add 6 additional schools. Each school has approximately 1000 students.
EVP: Currently our Client is making $300 million in revenue on a yearly basis. They have been in business for 11 years. Our Client is the largest for profit privately owned higher learning company in the country. Last year, they grew 18% while the “for profit” sector only grew 2%. They are adding an additional 6 schools this year, building them from the ground up. For each new school Delta adds they add an additional 1000 students.
Interview Process: There will be 2 interviews. There will be a phone interview with the team lead and CIO. Followed by a personal interview with the team and CIO.
