XPAND Corporation, leading provider of IT solutions & services, has an immediate opening for a Moodle Developer.  We are looking for creative, high energy team members who love what they do and want to make an immediate impact.  You will be challenged in an energetic and progressive organization while developing and enhancing a LMS along with a passionate, mission-driven team.

Responsibilities:

* Design, create, maintain new and customized academic software;
* Develop and enhance an existing LMS (Moodle);
* Enable a comprehensible UX by constructing appropriate data integration between academic and operational applications;
* Document application requirements and translate for the production of high-quality and bug-free software.

Requirements:

* Concrete grasp on written and verbal English as well as the ability to tailor communications between technical and non-technical audiences.
* Proven ability to cooperate with colleagues both in-office and in geographically separated cities.
* High level of professionalism, self-confidence, decisiveness and initiative.
* At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
* Capability to enhance an open source application (Moodle) using custom code in a PHP framework (Zend) and MySQL.
* Resourcefulness in developing custom software from scratch.
* Proficiency in at least one OOP language, preferably PHP.
* Competency in common design practices of writing code.
* Ability to articulate best practices for version control, code promotion, configuring technical environments and writing/tuning database queries.
* Fluency in several different development methodologies and aptitude to express preference for at least one methodology.

Bonus

* A keen eye for UX/UI considerations.
* A high level of zest, determination, expectation, appreciation and enthusiasm.
* A Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS or Engineering.
