Summary of Role

The main purpose of the role is to provide maternity leave cover for the current post holder.  The Communicaid Brussels office currently consists of 9 staff, including 4 Learning Managers.  The successful applicant will be closely involved in a number of large-scale projects in language pedagogy and testing.

Job purpose summary

2.                                                                                            To lead on projects involving application of new technologies and eLearning to language training and testing
3.                                                                                          To contribute to team-wide pedagogic quality assurance activities
4.                                                                                          To work closely with colleagues in all aspects of eLearning and content development

Essential

• University degree, ideally in a language-related and/or educational technology-related subject
• Up-to-date knowledge of recognised eLearning technical standards
• Experience in building and maintaining courseware and participant databases
• Demonstrable experience of course design for adult learners
• Excellent spoken and written English (C1 level)
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on coaching and motivational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Attention to detail
• Cultural sensitivity and strong relationship building skills
• Team player, resourceful, tenacious, pro-active and calm under pressure
• High level of IT literacy in Microsoft Office and MS Sharepoint

Desirable

• Knowledge and experience of the ‘Moodle’ Learning Management System
• Good spoken and written French (B2-C1 level)
• First-hand experience of language teaching
• Knowledge of European languages other than English and French
