Job offered: Contract Content Developers/Editors for K-12 Mathematics, Language Arts, Study Skills

Position Responsibilities:
• Develop lesson content for mathematics, reading, writing, and/or study skills programs using an online authoring tool, including: 
  • Writing content that addresses specific educational components
• Work independently to meet deadlines for weekly deliverables as part of a project plan
• Be available to work full or part time (at least 25 hours a objectives 
  • Writing content for Guided Practice, Independent Practice, Applied Practice, and Mastery Test lesson week) on the relevant projects
    • Work may be done remotely; non-business hours are acceptable

    Must submit a sample of work and references from a prior contract assignment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:

• BA/BS or above in one of the following areas: language arts education, reading education, literature, English, mathematics, mathematics education, education, or related areas of instruction as they relate to content area(s) for which applicant is applying
• At least three years educational publishing and/or teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: primary reading or mathematics, elementary mathematics or reading, middle school mathematics or language arts, algebra, geometry, high school English, or social studies
• At least three years content development experience in one or more of the following areas: primary reading or mathematics, elementary mathematics or reading, middle school mathematics or language arts, algebra, geometry, high school English, or social studies, including 
  • Experience with and understanding of educational publishing processes and vocabulary 
  • Experience working with and adhering to a style guide 
  • Mathematics applicants possess working familiarity with Math Type and Geometer’s Sketchpad

• Understanding of NCTM and/or NCTE Standards and Common Core standards as they relate to program(s) to which applicant is applying
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite; comfortable with online technologies. Moodle experience is a plus. 
• Dedicated, broadband Internet access, with Internet Explorer v8 or v9
• A PC, NOT a MAC (note that programs such as Parallels are not acceptable), with Microsoft Windows 7 or XP

• Ability to install fonts on personal computer
• Ability to connect remotely to our server
• Comfort with online technologies and willingness to learn new technologies and problem-solve technology issues
