The
Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership
organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it
has over 54,000 members who are committed to improving patient care,
developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a
discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical
profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the
UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems
experienced by the UK population.
As part of our Continuing
Professional Development strategy, we deliver training and education via
a popular and highly-regarded eLearning programme of updates, courses
and resources with a rapidly growing user base and range of content.
We
are now looking to recruit one eLearning Technologist. The successful
candidate will be responsible for eLearning projects throughout the
entire project lifecycle, from project scoping to project launch.
Working alongside authors, developers, project stakeholders, and Subject
Matter Experts (SMEs), to ensure each project is delivered on time,
within budget and meets the criteria set. Supporting web developers with
maintenance and upgrade of eLearning platform along with designing and
developing all in-house eLearning courses. Seeking new ways to enhance
our eLearning portfolio by researching, designing, and implementing new
eLearning modes of delivery.
The successful candidate will be
educated to HND or Degree level, or equivalent technical qualification.
Proven experience in creating and editing using eLearning authoring
software is essential. Candidates with experience of using and editing
Moodle are preferred. We are looking for someone with the ability to
manage both the operational aspects of the role, as well as have the
technical and creative skills to be able to edit and contribute to the
growing number of technical modes the team deliver.
Candidates
will possess excellent, written, and verbal communication, Microsoft
Office skills, and meticulous attention to detail. The successful
candidate will have a high degree of self-motivation, proven time
management skills and the ability to prioritise and deliver high quality
work within tight deadlines. They will also have a proven ability in
developing sound working relationships with colleagues from a range of
backgrounds and levels of seniority and have the willingness to learn
new skills and work within a changing environment.
